Many assume express logistics is all about indoor sorting lines. In reality, beyond the sorting centers, there are vast semi-open and open-air transfer yards, truck-loading bays, and inclined conveyors — all exposed to sun, rain, dust, and wash-downs. The equipment carrying these operations? Two oil-immersed motorized pulleys: Φ165 and Φ216.

An oil-immersed motorized pulley houses the motor, reduction gears, and lubricating oil entirely within the drum body. Externally, there is only a smooth cylinder, two shafts, and one cable. For express logistics, this design directly addresses four operational pain points:

Parcels converge on the sorting line with frequent start-stop cycles and continuous operation. The Φ165 is the primary choice here — 0.37kW is often sufficient, so there is no need to oversize. Low noise and smooth operation handle the high cadence with ease. For especially heavy mainline segments, the Φ216 can step in.

Open-air belt conveyors, temporary sorting shelters, and outdoor transfer lines face sun, rain, and wash-downs as standard working conditions. The Φ216 leads here: IP66/67 dust and water resistance, Class F insulation for high temperature tolerance, and optional 304 stainless steel drum and shaft — no need to build a protective enclosure for the motor.

Loading goods onto trucks and incline conveying raise two concerns: insufficient pulling power under load, and rollback on power loss. Both Φ165 and Φ216 offer selectable gear ratios — for heavy inclines, choose a high ratio for increased torque, paired with a mechanical backstop (anti-reverse) or electromagnetic brake (brake-on-power-loss). Note: adding a brake slightly increases the overall drum length.
